CalPERS’ CEO, Former SEC Chairmen, Chief Justice To Present at Directorship Conference

CalPERS CEO Fred Buenrostro, selected as the most influential player in corporate governance by Directorship magazine, will address the 8th annual Directorship Institute on December 11 and 12 in New York. Buenrostro will speak at a dinner that opens the conference and honors recipients named to the Directorship 100, the magazine’s inaugural ranking of the most influential players in corporate governance.

Also scheduled to participate in the two-day conference at the Union League Club in New York City are honorees from all spheres of influence, including government, the courts, investment firms, and corporate executives, each recognized for their effective advocacy of good corporate governance practices.

“It has been a turbulent year for boards of directors who find themselves challenged by a weakening economy and an obligation to understand and uphold good corporate governance practices,” said Jeff Cunningham, Chairman and CEO of Directorship. “Directors are motivated to ensure that their guardianship of corporate governance is held to the highest standards. Governance is now more than a best practice for boards, it is an essential risk management tool, and the D100 roster of speakers are the leading experts on this important subject.”
