A 2006 charge of fraud and conspiracy in relation to AIG’s workers compensation administration was dismissed last week, with a $1 billion case being thrown out by a Chicago judge. According to Law.com, a suit brought about by insurers against AIG maintained that the $343 million that AIG paid to settle workers compensation claims was insufficient to compensate for losses on the part of the insurers. The plaintiff, the National Council on Compensation Insurance, represented 600 individual insurers in the case.
