The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple has agreed to conduct an audit of the pollution management of one of its component suppliers in China as its operations face greater scrutiny there. Last year, the Journal notes, “Apple carried out special environmental audits in addition to its standard audits. According to results posted on its website, those checks led the company to require 58 noncompliant facilities to treat air emissions and 69 facilities to improve hazardous waste disposal procedures.”
