Douglas Shulman became the 47th Commissioner of Internal Revenue and began his five-year term on March 24, 2008. Prior to the IRS, he was vice chairman of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He served in the same role at the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) before its 2007 consolidation with New York Stock Exchange Member Regulation.
