New Board Members named at Fannie Mae, Charlotte Russe, DuPont and More

Fannie Mae, a New York Stock Exchange company, announced last week that John C. Sites, Jr. has been elected to the board of directors, of which he will serve on the Housing and Community Finance and Risk Policy and Capital committees.

 

Sites, a consultant to Wexford Capital LLC, is also a general partner of Rock Creek Partners II Ltd., a private equity fund of investment and advisory firm Rock Creek Capital Advisors.

Mark Rivers last week announced his resignation from the board of directors of mall-based fashion apparel retailer Charlotte Russe Holding Inc., part of recent changes to the company’s board.

 

Also last week, the company appointed Herbert Kleinberger to the board effective immediately.  Kleinberger will also serve on the company’s audit and compensation committees.

DuPont, a science-based products and services company, announced last week that Marillyn A. Hewson, executive vice president at Lockheed Martin, has been elected to the company’s board of directors.

 

Hewson brings with her experience in leadership positions in the aerospace industry, including a 24-year career at Lockheed Martin, where she led a broad range of businesses and strategic functions.  As part of her new position with DuPont, she will be responsible for ensuring that customers around the world receive the best-value sustainment services and total life cycle support for their aircraft.

Leading super-premium coffee company Peet’s Coffee & Tea Inc. has appointed Libby Sartain to its board of directors.

 

Sartain, who currently serves as an executive vice president and chief people at Yahoo! Inc., brings with her a distinguished 30-year career in human resources.  Before joining Yahoo! in 2001, Sartain held executive and officer positions at Southwest Airlines, where she led all HR functions.  She is the co-author of two widely read books on successful employment strategies and contributes regularly to industry business publications on HR and management issues.

Wendell S. Reilly and J. Powell Brown have been elected to the board of insurance company Brown & Brown, the company announced last week.

 

Reilly is currently the managing partner of Grapevine Partners LLC of Atlanta, Ga., a private equity investment firm focused on media and communications.  Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Grapevine Communications LLC, a group of local TV stations that were merged to form Piedmont Television, as well as CFO of Haas Publishing and CFO of The Lamar Corporation, a national outdoor advertising company.
