SVP Worldwide names Helmkamp CEO; AMETEK adds Conti to board

After Joel F. Gemunder officially retired as the company’s president and CEO, Omnicare named James D. Shelton interim president and CEO. SVP Worlwide appointed Katrina Helmkamp CEO. Steven Ledger was elected to the board at Acorn Energy. AMETEK announced that Anthony J. Conti, formerly of PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been added to the board.

Omnicare announced that Joel F. Gemunder, president and CEO, has retired. Gemunder has also retired as a director. The board appointed James D. Shelton, a director of the company and the former chairman and CEO of Triad Hospitals, a Fortune 500 company, to assume the responsibilities of president and CEO on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is named.

SVP Worldwide, the world’s largest sewing machine company, has appointed Katrina Helmkamp, who has held senior positions at Whirlpool Corporation and The ServiceMaster Company, as CEO of the company.

Acorn Energy has elected Steven Ledger as a new member of its board. Ledger is managing member of Tamalpais Partners. Acorn Energy is a publicly traded holding company with equity interests in CoaLogix, Coreworx, DSIT and Gridsense.

AMETEK, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electro-mechanical devices, announced that its board has appointed Anthony J. Conti as a new director of the company.  Conti retired in 2009 from PricewaterhouseCoopers after a distinguished 37-year career.
