Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway will report first-quarter results May 8, six days after the company’s annual meeting, reports Bloomberg.
The annual meeting taking place May 2 in Omaha, Nebraska is expected to bring in over 35,000 spectators. The company said the May 8 date conforms with regulations requiring results be released within 40 days of the end of a quarter and continues the company tradition of announcing the data on a Friday. From 2006 to 2008, results were announced Friday before the meeting.
Berkshire has posted five straight profit declines on deteriorating results at insurance units and liabilities from derivative bets on world stock markets.
