The Boston Globe has learned that Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of Dutch express package delivery company TNT Express NV, will quit work by the end of this month “to pursue an external career opportunity.” Pending negotiations with European regulators, TNT is set to be acquired by United Parcel Service for $6.77 billion. The company’s CFO Bernard Bot has agreed to serve as interim CEO until a permanent successor is named. TNT ranks as Europe’s second biggest delivery company, trailing only DHL.
