CEO Turnover Slows in September

A research group that monitors executive changes reported that third-quarter CEO changes between 2006 and 2007 were relatively small. According to Liberum Research, by comparison, however, third-quarter CFO turnover increased 13 percent for the third quarter of 2007 compared to totals for the  same period of 2006.

For the month of September, Liberum noted that management changes (CEO, CFO and other c-level executives) were "incongruent with the totals registered for the same period in September 2006." Overall, management turnover declined 3 percent while CEO turnover declined a surprising 25 percent, and CFO turnover declined only 3 percent.

"The precipitous drop in CEO turnover," Liberum noted in a statement, "is more than likely an aberration in the numbers but we recommend investors keep a close eye on the trend."
