CEOs paint dim picture of global economy in PwC survey

Only 15 percent of CEOs surveyed said the global economy will improve this year.

The Times of Oman cites PwC’s newly released 15th Annual Global CEO Survey in reporting that “48 percent of the 1,258 chief executive officers polled worldwide believe the global economy will decline even further in the next 12 months.” Only 15 percent said the global economy will improve this year. Ammar Hindash, advisory partner at PwC, remarks, “Whilst these statistics may seem gloomy, nearly three times as many CEOs are confident in their own companies’ growth prospects for the next 12 months, suggesting that they believe they have learned how to manage through difficult and volatile economic times and have strategized effective plans to redress global risks to their businesses.”
