CFO Earns More than Buffett, Munger

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett and Vice Chairman Charlie Munger have once again kept their salaries at $100,000 in 2007. Both men, though, received less pay than CFO Marc Hamburg.

While the pair’s salaries haven’tchanged for more than 25 years, neither man is struggling financially. Earlierthis month, Buffett was dubbed the richest man in the world by Forbes magazine, which estimated that hisfortune had grown to $62 billion and that Munger is worth about $2.4 billion,according to USAtoday.

Meanwhile, Hamburg was the corporation’s highest-paid employee, having received $723,750in 2007. The pay included $11,250 contribution to a defined contribution plan,which is up from the $673,500 he received in 2006, according to a filing yesterday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Buffett has long been critical ofexcessive executive pay, perks and stock options, so his holding companydoesn’t use them. The only other compensation Buffett received besides hissalary last year was $75,000 in fees he collected for serving on othercompanies’ boards. Berkshire did not list anyother compensation for Munger besides his salary.
