New Directors at Pepsi Bottling, Northstar Electronics, Cott, More...

The Pepsi Bottling Group has named John Compton, CEO of PepsiCo Americas Foods, and a 24-year PepsiCo veteran, to tis board.

 

Prior to his current role, Compton served as CEO of PepsiCo North America. Previously, he was president and CEO of the company's Quaker-Tropicana-Gatorade division, and also served in a variety of roles at Frito-Lay, where he ultimately became the division's vice chairman and president.

Northstar Electronics has named Harry Davis to its board of directors.

 

Davis brings with him experience in design and implementation of vertically integrated businesses in telecommunications, broadcast, cable television, and proprietary software industries. He has worked in engineering for Canadian General Electric, and was vice president of research and engineering at Premier Cablesystems. While on the board of Northstar, he will continue his consulting work with technological companies through his wholly-owned consulting firm, H K Davis & Associates.

Don Logan, chairman of Time Warner Cable, as been named to DTN’s board.

 

Prior to his role with Time Warner, he was chairman and CEO of Time Inc., the company’s publishing subsidiary. He currently sits on the boards of Auburn University Foundation, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Friends of the Railroad District, and the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham.

 

“I am thrilled that Don Logan has joined the company’s board of directors,” Robert Gordon, DTN’s CEO, said in a statement. “Don is one of the most respected media experts in the business and we will benefit from his vast experience in the publishing industry.”

Cott Corporation named David T. Gibbons as the company’s interim CEO.

 

Gibbons was named to Cott’s board in March 2007, and from 2000 to 2006 he was president and CEO of Perrigo Company. He will serve in his current role until the company has found a permanent CEO.

Pan American Silver, among changes to its board, has announced that David Press, a mining engineer with more than 38 years of mining experience, will be nominated to fill a vacancy on the board created by John Wilson, who will retire effective at the company’s general meeting on May 13.
