Kilts to Pfizer Board, Tyco Repurchases Shares, Other Board News

Drug giant Pfizer, Inc. has expanded its Board of Directors by two members.  Suzanne Nora Johnson, a retired vice chairman of the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., and James M. Kilts, a current founding partner of Centerview Partners, a private equity and financial advisory firm, join Pfizer’s Board effective Thursday.

 

                              

 

 

 

PepsiCo senior Vice President and Treasurer Lionel L. Nowell, III has been elected to Reynolds American Inc.’s Board of Directors, and will serve on the Board’s audit committee.  Nowell, 53, a CPA holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio State University, is also a board member of the American Electric Power Company, and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business.

 

                               

 

 

BMC Software has elected Gary Bloom to its Board of Directors.  Bloom, who holds more than two decades of senior executive experience in software technology, was most recently vice chairman and president of Symantec.  He has also served on the boards for Virata, Globespan Virata, VERITAS, and Symantec – all publicly traded companies.

 

 

                               

 

 

Jeffrey H. Buchalter has been elected as Chairman of the MacroGenics Inc. Board of Directors, bringing with him more than 20 years experience in product development and commercialization in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry to the biotech company.  Currently, Buchalter serves as President, CEO and Chairman of the Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Board of Directors.

 

                               

 

Ezra Dabah has resigned from his role as CEO of Children’s Place, a children's clothing vendor.  The move was requested by the company's Board of Directors, which said it has resolved previously identified violations to the company’s code of conduct that involved two executives, including Dabah.

 

Meanwhile, the Board has named Chuck Crovitz, a current board member, as interim CEO, and plans to engage a search firm to look for Dabah’s permanent successor.
