Board Appointments at Brunswick, others

Brunswick Corporation named Anne E. Belec to its board. Belec has been director of global marketing for Ford Motor Company since March 2008. She previously served as president and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America, overseeing Volvo operations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. She also served as vice president of sales operations for the Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden.

Biogen named Brian Posner to its board, expanding Biogen’s board to 13 members. Posner is a private investor and former hedge fund manager. He has been linked to Carl Icahn’s efforts to take over Yahoo’s board. Posner served as CEO of ClearBridge Advisors, and co-founded and ran a hedge fund called Hygrove Partners from 200 to 2005.

Avis Budget Group announced the appointment of Eduardo G. Mestre to its board. Mestre is vice chairman of Evercore Partners since 2004 where he is responsible for the firm’s corporate advisory business.

Oracle named Bruce R. Chizen to its board of directors. Chizen is former CEO of Adobe Systems. He also serves as director of Synopsys.
