Allison has served as chairman, president, and CEO of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association—College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) from November 2002 to April 2008. Before joining TIAA-CREF, Allison served as CEO for the Alliance for Lifelong Learning, an online joint venture of Oxford, Stanford, and Yale Universities. He began his career with Merrill Lynch in 1971 and left in 1999 to serve as national finance chairman for U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign. ___________________________________
IBM elected Taizo Nishimuro it its board. Nishimuro is chairman of the board of the Tokyo Stock Exchange Group. He was named chairman in 2005. He concurrently served TSE as president and CEO from December 2005 to June 2007. Nishimuro also served as chairman of Toshiba between June 2000 and June 2005. __________________________________
Ariba, the leading spend management solutions provider, named Harriet Edelman to its board. Edelman spent more than 25 years at Avon Products in key leadership positions, including her most recent post as senior vice president and CIO. Previously, she served in executive roles in marketing, supply chain management, sales, customer service, planning, and information technology. ___________________________________
Exelon named John A. Canning, Jr., to its board. Canning is chairman and co-founder of Madison Dearborn Partners and chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Canning is chairman of MDP, a Chicago-based management buyout and special equity investment firm he co-founded in 1993. He previously served as president and then CEO of MDP. ___________________________________
AutoNation named David Edelson to its board. Edelson is senior vice president of Loews Corporation, a diversified holding company with subsidiaries in the property-casualty insurance, offshore drilling, natural gas transmission and storage, natural has exploration and production, and lodging industries. ___________________________________
Patrick Moneymaker was elected to the Kforce board of directors. Retired United States Navy Rear Admiral, Moneymaker has resigned as CEO of Kforce Government Holdings and has been elected to serve on the Kforce board. Moneymaker will become president and CEO of Proxy Aviation Systems. ___________________________________
