New Board Members Named at Pepsi, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Monster, More...

PepsiCo announced the election of Ian M. Cook and Lloyd G. Trotter to its board of directors, effective March 14.

 

Cook, 55, is presently president and chief executive officer of Colgate-Palmolive Company, a $12 billion dollar business with 34,000 employees globally and is one of the world's oldest and respected consumer products companies.

 

Trotter, 61, is retiring from his role as vice chairman of General Electric at the end of the month, after a 37-year career with the company. He is now joining the New-York based investment firm of GeNx360 capital Partners, of which GE is an investor, as one of the principals.

Bristol-Myers Squibb announced that Togo D. West, Jr. has been elected to its Board of Directors. West will serve as a member of the Compensation and Management Development Committee and the Committee on Directors and Corporate Governance.

 

West is currently chairman of TLI Leadership Group and of Noblis, Inc. He has been U.S. Secretary of the Army and U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He has practiced law as a partner in the New York law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb and Tyler and was of counsel to the D.C. based law firm of Covington and Burling. He also served as general counsel to the Department of Defense and of the Navy. More recently, he has been president and CEO of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. West serves on the boards of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

Monster Worldwide has appointed retired Admiral Edmund P. Giambastiani, Jr., to its board, increasing the overall number to 10 of which eight are independent.

 

Giambastiani served as seventh vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2005 to 2007. In this role, he chaired the Joint Requirements Oversight Council, co-chaired the Defense Acquisition Board and served as a member of the National Security Council Deputies Committee, as well as serving on additional high-level committees and working groups. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
