“Intel CEO Paul Otellini on Wednesday said he thinks the company’s board will choose a candidate from within the chip giant’s ranks to replace him after he steps down in May,” reports MarketWatch. Otellini further stated that he is “very comfortable” with the internal candidates being considered. In fact, he believes that choosing an insider would be the best path for Intel considering the challenges it faces. Among the possible internal candidates that have been mentioned by analysts are: Thomas Kilroy, general manager of Intel’s sales and marketing group; David Perlmutter, Intel’s chief product officer; and CFO Stacy Smith.
