Jobs Under Fire Again for Backdating

CEO Steve Jobs and Apple’s directors face yet another private lawsuit over their handling of stock options. The Boston Retirement Board claims that $105 million was wasted when directors granted Jobs backdated stock options. The pension fund believes that the directors should be held liable for the damage they caused to the company.

Jobs was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Securities and Exchange Commission on charges of backdating, but The Boston Retirement Board suit is claiming to have new specifics which might implicate Jobs.

The fund says new information was uncovered during a records inspection earlier in Santa Clara County Superior Court. FindLaw reports "the documents Apple has produced provide critical details about Apple’s backdating practices and confirm that all of Apple’s directors were aware of and participated in the backdating scheme.”
