According to Computer Business Review, the total volume of mergers and acquisitions in the software industry during the first half of the year increased 6 percent. The most recent report from Berkery Noyes shows that mergers and acquisitions totaled 785 in the first six months of this year. The fastest growing sector was the Consumer Software segment, which saw 29 percent more mergers and acquisitions than the first half of 2011.
