NACDNE Honors Fraser, Thermo Science Board

The New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors has announced this year’s nominees for the Director of the Year awards. Award recipients will be honored at the annual NACD New England Director of the Year Awards Dinner taking place on May 7.

The New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors has announced this year’s nominees for the Director of the Year awards. Award recipients will be honored at the annual NACD New England Director of the Year Awards Dinner taking place on May 7.

The awards recognize excellence in public, private, and non-profit corporate governance. Among those receiving awards are Thermo Fisher Scientific’s board, and Robert Fraser, former chairman and managing partner of Goodwin Procter.

“From Thermo Fisher Scientific’s exemplary corporate governance and Boardroom leadership to the distinguished service that our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Robert Fraser, all of this year’s award recipients are shining examples of good corporate governance,” said Event Chair Edward H. Pendergast. “Our May 7th event will be a wonderful evening to celebrate and recognize their accomplishments in supporting good corporate governance.”

This year’s recipients include:

  • Board of the Year: Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Robert B. Fraser, former chairman and managing partner of Goodwin Procter.
  • Leadership in Public Corporate Governance Award: Ronald L. Skates, former president and CEO of Data General.
  • Leadership in Private Corporate Governance Award: Joseph J. Caruso, Bantam Group.
  • Leadership in Non-Profit Governance Award: Stephen R. Karp, chairman and CEO New England Development.

 

Winners in each category will go into the candidate pool for the national awards, which will be presented at the NACD conference in October. The NACD has begun taking nominations at www.nacdonline.org.
