Obama appoints D100 honoree to Telecommunications Advisory Committee

President Obama has announced the appointment of Maggie Wilderotter as Vice Chair of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

President Obama has announced the appointment of Maggie Wilderotter as Vice Chair of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

Wilderotter is recognized in the Directorship 100 (D100) for her efforts to build the largest rural communications provider in the U.S. in her current role as Chairman and CEO of Frontier Communications. Wilderotter is also a director on the boards of Procter & Gamble and Xerox, and recently stepped down from the board of Yahoo.  Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at Microsoft, Executive Vice President of National Operations for AT&T Wireless Services and CEO of AT&T’s Aviation Communications Division.

Obama also appointed James Q. Crowe Chairman of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and Donna A. James Chairperson of the National Women’s Business Council.

“These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and talent to their new roles and I am proud to have them serve in this administration,” President Obama said in a statement.  “I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead.”
