Recent Board Appointments

New director appointments at eBay, CIGNA, ABM Industries, AT&T, and others.

Marc Andreessen joined eBay’s board. Andreessen is an entrepreneur, investor, and blogger. His current focus is Ning, a new consumer social networking company founded in late 2004. Prior to Ning, Andreessen co-founded Opsware and Netscape.

CIGNA announced that John M. Partridge, COO of Visa, will join its board. Partridge was appointed COO of Visa and interim president of VISA U.S.A. in July 2007. He previously served as president and CEO of Inovant.

ABM Industries elected Dan Bane to its board. Bane is CEO of Trader Joe’s, a nationwide chain of groceries stores. He was appointed to the board’s audit committee. Under Bane’s leadership, Trader Joe’s has grown to more than $6.5 billion in annual sales and approximately 300 specialty stores nationwide.

Jaime Chico Pardo will join AT&T’s board. Chico is chairman of Teléfonos de México, S.A.B. de C.V. He will serve on the audit committee. Chico has been chairman of Telmex since 2005 and co-chairman of IDEAL, a publicly listed company that invests and manages infrastructure assets in Latin America.

The Pepsi Bottling Group elected Eric J. Foss as chairman of the board. Foss also serves as the company’s CEO. Foss will resume his responsibilities as director on the PBG board. He has served as PBG’s non-executive chairman since 2007.

Gerard R. Vittecoq has been named to Best Buy’s board. Vittecoq joined Caterpillar in 1975 and held various accounting and finance positions. Today, he is responsible for the company’s EAME marketing and operations divisions, and Caterpillar production system division.

Goodyear named Stephanie A. Streeter to its board. Streeter is former chairman, president, and CEO of Banta. She joined Banta in January 201 as president and COO. She becamse CEO in 2002 and chairman in 2004. Prior to joining Banta, Streeter was COO of Idealab.

ShopNBC, a 24-hour TV shopping network, announced the appointment of Joseph F. Beradino, former CEO of Profectus BioSciences and previous CEO of Andersen Worldwide.

LiveOps appointed PayPal executive Ryan D. Downs to its board. Downs is senior vice president of global operations at PayPal. He has extensive experience running a large customer service organization.

LiveDeal appointed Sheryle Bolton to its audit committee on its board of directors. Bolton is currently a director of Austhink Software, a private company that produces decision support software. She previously was founder and CEO of QUIXIT and served as CEO of Scientific Learning.

Walgreens CEO Jeffrey Rein joins JCPenney’s board. Rein has been with Walgreens for 27 years. He was named president and COO in 2003 and became CEO and chairman in 2007.

Mindray Medical International appointed Peter Wan and Kern Lim to its board. Wan is a former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Lim currently serves as the vice president of financial of the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel.

Richard J. Harrington will join Aetna’s board. Harrington served as president and CEO of The Thomson Corporation (business technology and integrated information solutions). He has held various senior leadership positions within Thomson since 1982.

Union Pacific elected Michael R. McCarthy to its board. McCarthy serves as chairman of McCarthy Group, an Omaha-based investment firm he co-founded in 1986. He is also a director of Peter Kiewit Sons’.

Palamida, a company that provides application security for open source, named Andre M. Boisvert to its board. He will serve as chairman and will take an active role in business development for Palamida.

Applied Materials announced the appointment of Alexander “Andy” Karsner to its board. Karsner has been appointed to the board’s strategy committee. Karsner served as assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) from March 2006 to August 2008.

AmerisourceBergen elected Richard W. Gochnauer to its board. Gochnauer has been president and CEO of United Stationers since 2002. Prior to that, he served as president, COO, vice chairman, and president of International of Golden State Foods Corporation.

Gary R. King joined Parker Drilling’s board. King currently serves as CEO of Dubai Natural Resources World, and was the former CEO of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange.

Hillenbrand elected Stuart A. Taylor to its board. Taylor is the CEO of The Taylor Group in Chicago. Formed in 2001, the privately held investment group is focused on creating and acquiring businesses in partnership with women and minority entrepreneurs.

David Reese was appointed to I2 Telecom’s board. Reese has over 25 years of experience and has been involved in many aspects of the technology and telecommunications industries. He was CEO of ACTV, a New York City-based digital media company that developed proprietary applications for digital television and the Internet.

Northwest Natural Gas Company named Gregg S. Kantor to its board. Kantor, who was appointed president and COO in May 2007, previously served terms at NW Natural as executive vice president, senior vice president, and vice president.

Ann M. Schrader, has been elected to American Transmission’s board. Schrader, COO of HealthEast Care System, is a former Wisconsin governor, attorney, and former partner in the Quarles & Brady law firm.

Allis-Chalmers Energy appointed Munir Akram to its board. Akram most recently served as permanent ambassador and permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations from 1995 until his retirement in 2008.

John D. Cook has been elected to Brown-Forman’s board. Cook is a director emeritus of McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm. Cook has served with McKinsey for 25 years and has worked within the consumer goods industries on business and strategic issues.

Compellent Technologies named Duston Williams to its board. Williams will serve on the audit committee. Williams brings 28 years of senior financial management experience in the data networking and storage industry.

Duke R. Ligon and Dave Miller have been appointed to SemGroup Energy Partners’ board. Ligon is an attorney and served as senior vice president and general counsel of Devon Energy Corporation. Miller joined Elliott Associates in 2003 as an analyst after having worked mergers and acquisitions and finanancing roles at Peter J. Solomon Company.

CVRx named Joseph P. Slattery to its board. Slattery will chair the audit committee and brings more than 20 years of experience to CVRx. He currently sits on the boards of Micromet, and TranS1.

Unitri CFO Eric J. Draut joined Intermec’s board. Draut is executive vice president and CFO of Unitrin.

EnerNOC appointed James L. Turner to its board. Turner is president and COO of U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas for Duke Energy and currently serves on the boards of the Electric Power Research Institute.

Zynex named Taylor Simonton and Mary Beth Vitale to its board. Simonton is currently the president of the Colorado chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Vitale is currently the treasurer of the Colorado chapter of the NACD.

I2 Telecom appointed Tim McGeehan to its board. McGeehan previous served as executive vice president of retail sales at Best Buy. He was responsible for mobile phone sales at 850 retail locations with over 100,000 employees.

ARIAD Pharmaceuticals announced the appointments of Massimo Radaelli, PhD and Wayne Wilson to its board. Radaelli is president and CEO of Dompé International SA. Wilson is an independent business advisor.

3Com elected Kathleen Cote to its board. Cote is the former CEO of Worldport Communications. She is the seventh member of the 3Com board and will serve as a member of the board’s audit and finance committee as well as nominating and governance committee.

Charles Kennedy has been named to AHIC’s board. Kennedy is vice president for Health Information Technology of WellPoint.

Global Energy named Hezy Ram to its board. Ram is the founder of Ram Power, a California-based company engaged in developing cutting-edge geothermal and solar thermal solutions.

New Directors named at Golfsmith International, Flotek Industries, TierOne and others.

Robert E. Allen, founder and managing director of Redding Consultants since 1982, combined with his over twenty years of consulting with McKinsey & Company has been appointed to Golfsmith International Holding’s board. Allen currently serves on the board of J. Roberts and Son, a U.K. manufacturer of luxury goods.

Roberto Tunioli, vice chairman and CEO of Europe’s Datalogic SpA, has been named to Monster Worldwide. Tunioloi leads the third largest producer of bar code readers, data collection mobile computers and RFID technology systems in the world. Under his leadership, the international company increased its sales from an estimated 35 million euro in 1993 to over 400 million euro in 2007.

TierOne has appointed Samuel P. Baird to its board. Baird, who was director of the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance from 1999 to 2004, has over 35 years of experience in banking, real estate, insurance, and law. Prior to being named by then governor Mike Johanns to head the Nebraska Department of Banking in 1999, Baird was CEO of F.S.B., a multi-bank holding company which owns banks in Superior, Nebraska and Mankato, Kansas. He also served as a director for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Robert P. Crouch, CFO of MPS Group, has joined the company’s board. Crouch currently serves on the board of Florida Bank of Jacksonville.

Rudolph Technologies announced the addition of Leo Berlinghieri to its board. Berlinghieri currently serves as a board member and CEO of MKS Instruments. Berlinghieri is expected to serve on the board’s compensation committee.

China Energy Recovery welcomed Fred Krupica, CFO of LegalZoom.com and Mengjiao Jiang, managing director of ARC Investment Partners in China. Krupica brings more than 30 years of experience at several high-growth corporations. Mengjiao is responsible for overseeing the Shanghai, China office as managing director of ARC Investment Partners.

eZCom Software announced that former TyCom COO and executive vice president Claire Calandra has joined its board. Calandra is the founder and principle at The CLC Group, a management consulting company specializing in strategy and corporate training.

Proofprint, a provider of unified email security, archiving, and data loss prevention solutions welcomed Dana Evan to its board. Evan spent 12 years as CFO of VeriSign, until her retirement in 2007.

Flotek Industries appointed James R. Massey to its board. Massey recently retired from ExxonMobil after 36 years experience in the oil industry, both domestically and internationally. He held a variety of senior leadership positions ranging from country manager to larger portfolios of multiple countries.

Quepasa Corporation, ownder of an online social community group for young Latinos, announced that Jim Ferris, the current senior global brand manager at Electronic Arts, to its board. Ferris previously served as product manager at EA Sports from 2003 to 2006.

DealerTracker Holdings appointed James D. Foy to its board. Foy brings his experience as CEO of privately-held Aspect Software and the two predecessor companies (Concerto Software and Davox Corporation) since 2001.

PRTM CEO Michael Aghajanian has joined CIMTEK’s board. Aghahanian brings 25 years of experience in leading companies up the performance curve for product development.

Zipcar welcomed former CEO of Euro Disney and Club Med, Philippe Bourguignon to its board. Zipcar hopes to utilize Bourguignon’s international business leadership experience and market savvy to assist in Zipcar’s growth. Bourguignon recently served as the co-CEO of the World Economic Forum and previously served as CEO of Club Mediterranee, the parent company of Club Med. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president of Disney Europe and also served as CEO of Euro Disney.

Medimetricks Pharmaceuticals welcomed Wolfgang Kunze it its board. Kunze will serve as the audit committee chairman and brings more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

U.S. billionaire Stan Kroenke, who owns a 12.38 percent in Arsenal, is joining the club’s board as a non-executive director. Kroenke’s experience in sports team commercial management, sports marketing, media and new rights media as well as real estate development is what Arsenal seeks to utilize.

DEQ appointed Michael Hackman to its board. Hackman has more than 30 years experience in the Asian and Australian gaming and lottery industry.

Former Western Digital CEO Matthew Massengill has jointed GT Solar International’s board. Under Massengill’s leadership, Western Digital became a premier supplier of hard drives for PCs and consumer electronics.

Matthew D. Fitzgerald has been appointed to Rosette Resources’ board. Fitzgerald is a private investor. He retired from Grant Prideco in April 2008, where he served as executive vice president and CFO since 2004.

Pyng Medical Corporation announced that L.J. “Bud” Evans has been appointed to its board. Evans is president and CEO of the SFI Financial Group. He is a former chairman of the White House Cabinet Council Committee on Technology Commercialization and a former director of NASA Commercial Technology.

Nanosphere elected Lorin J. Randall to its board. Randall brings extensive senior executive and independent board member experience in the healthcare, manufacturing, and technology industries.

Eisenman currently serves as dean of Babson ExecutiveEducation at Babson College, and has heldsenior executive positions at American Express, Enhance Financial Services, TheChildren’s Place, and PDI International.

Lau is CEO of Lau Technologies, a consulting investmentcompany she founded in 1990. Lau has held leadership positions with DigitalEquipment Corp. and General Electric, and has been a member of the board of ITTEducation Services since 2003. Deutsche Bank AG has appointed Stefen Krause to its managementboard.

Krause was a member of the management board of BMW AG, servingas CFO from May 2002 until September 2007, and subsequently responsible forsales and marketing. He will succeed Anthony di lorio as CFO of Deutsche afterhe retires in October.

Shareholders of Hyundai Motor Co. have re-elected thecompany’s chairman, Chung Mong-koo, to serve another three-year term on theboard, according to the Associated Press.

The vote, held at the company’s annual shareholders meeting,comes despite Mong-koo’s conviction last year of fraud charges. South Korea’sNational Pension Service has said it would vote against Chung’s re-election, as “hisconviction last year on embezzlement and fraud hurt shareholders’ value.”Still, Hyundai has said it was confident Chung would be re-elected given a risein the company’s stock price and the doubling of revenue since Chung took thehead seat at the company in 1999, according to the AP.
