Collexis Holdings, a developer of search and scientific research software, appointed four former CEOs to its board: Mark Auerbach, former executive chairman of the board of Par Pharmaceuticals; Frank Carlucci, chairman emeritus of the Carlyle Group and former U.S. Secretary of Defense; John Macomber, former chairman and CEO of Celanese Corp., and John Regazzik, former CEO of Elsevier.

Noble prize winner Dr. Linda Buck, associate director and affiliate professor at the University of Washington, and Marcello Bottoli, CEO of Samsonite, were appointed to the board of International Flavors and Fragrances.

Jones Apparel Group CFO Wesley Card was promoted to CEO.

Thermo Electron Corp.  has named Marijn Dekkers president and CEO from Honeywell International (formerly AlliedSignal).

Thomas Dickinson, a principal in the CPA firm of Biggs, Hausserman, Thompson & Dickson, has been named to the board of Firstbank Corp.

Roger N. Farah, president and CEO of Polo Ralph Lauren, has joined the Aetna board.

Charles W. Federico, president and CEO of Orthofix, has been named to the board of
MAKO Surgical.

W. Frank Fountain, senior vice president of DaimlerChrysler, and Ruth Shaw, retired executive from Duke Energy, were elected to the DTE Energy board.

Stephen Furbacher, president and CEO of Dynegy, was named director at CF Industries Holdings.

McKinsey & Co. Managing Director Rajat Gupta was appointed to the board of Procter & Gamble.

Former 7-Eleven CEO James Keyes was named CEO of Blockbuster.

Dollar Tree Stores named Lemuel Lewis and Carl Zeithami independent directors. Lewis is a board member and chair of the  audit committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of  Virginia, while Zeithami is dean of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Frankfurt, Germany-based Siemens AG has named former Merck executive Peter Loescher to the post of CEO.

Robert Linhart replaces Carroll Markley, who retired, as CEO of  Millennium Bankshares.

Carol Mills, a former executive at Juniper Networks and Acta Technology, ha been named director at Tekelec. She currently sits on the board of Adobe Systems.

David Moffett, former vice chair and CFO of U.S. Bancorp, was named director at eBay and joined its audit committee.

Fernando Montero, president of Mentor Capital Corp., was elected to the board of OmniComm Systems.

Bill Nelson was promoted from CFO to chairman and CEO of Time Warner’s Home Box Office.

Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense Thomas O’Connell was named to the board of EMS Technologies.

Mattel named Vasant Prabhu, CFO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, to its board.

CFO Sal Quadrino has been designated CEO of Helios and Matheson, succeeding company founder and CEO Shmuel BenTov, who steps down in March at the completion of his contract.

National City has selected Peter Raskind as its next CEO. Named to the board last year, Raskin will replace David Daberko who retires from the financial holding company after 39 years.

Ronald Rittenmeyer, former executive vice president, has been named CEO of Electronic Data Systems.

Robert L. Ryan, former CFO of Medtronic, was elected to the board of Citgroup. Ryan also serves on the boards of Black and Decker, General Mills, Hewlett-Packard, and United Healthcare.

Saks Chairman and CEO Stephen Sadove was elected to Colgate-Palmolive’s board.

Dominick Schiano, vice chairman of Global Industrial Partners at Credit Suisse DLJ Merchant Bank, was named to the board of Material Sciences Corp. and will serve on its audit committee. He also serves on the board of Paradigm Precision where he chairs the audit committee.

Severin Schwan was named CEO of  Roche Holding AG, the  Zurich biotech company that is the majority owner of Genentech

Joseph J. Tabacco, managing partner at San Francisco CPA firm Berman DeValerio Pease Tabacco Burt  Pucillo, has joined the board of Overstock.com.

Ivanka Trump, supermodel and vice president of the Trump Organization, has been named to the board of Trump Entertainment Resorts.

Michelangelo Volpi, formerly of Cisco Systems, joined Joost, a video streaming company, as CEO.
