The Institute for Policy Studies has released its annual study of executive compensation, Compliance Week reports, which found that 26 of the country’s 100 highest-paid CEOs earned more than their companies paid in taxes last year. “Those CEOs took in average compensation worth $20.4 million,” the study notes, “up 23 percent over the previous year’s 25 executives who fit the profile.” Among the chief execs singled out were Chesapeake Energy’s Aubrey McClendon, Boeing’s James McNerney, Citigroup’s Vikram Pandit, and Miles White of Abbott Laboratories.
