Wal-Mart fights back as workers plan Black Friday strikes

Wal-Mart Stores filed a complaint against United Food and Commercial Workers Union and its OURWalmart subsidiary for unlawfully organizing picket lines and other demonstrations.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Wal-Mart Stores “has filed a complaint with the federal government that accuses one of the largest labor unions in the U.S. of unlawfully organizing picket lines, in-store ‘flash mobs,’ and other demonstrations in the past six months.” The world’s largest retailer says the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and its OURWalmart subsidiary have been working to force the company into collective bargaining even though UFCW is not the official union for Wal-Mart employees.
