Time Warner has appointed Jack Griffin CEO of the company. Griffin succeeds Ann Moore, who will retire at the end of September. Griffin recenlty left Meredith, the publisher of Better Homes and Gardens, Parents and Fitness magazines. Moore will stay on as chairwoman through the CEO transition.
HMS, a company specializing in coordination of benefits and program integrity services for healthcare payors, announced that Bart M. Schwartz has been elected to the board. Schwartz is is chairman of Guidepost Solutions, a global investigations, intelligence and security company.
Hewlett-Packard announced that Chairman, CEO and President Mark Hurd has decided to resign his positions effective immediately. The board at HP has appointed CFO Cathie Lesjak as CEO on an interim basis. Lesjak is a 24-year veteran of the company who has served as HP’s CFO and as a member of the company’s executive council since January 2007.
Karen Maidment, a former CFO at Bank of Montreal, has been named to the board of directors at TD Ameritrade. Maidment was previously on the board of directors at Clarica Life Insurance and Bank of Montreal’s Harris Bank. She currently serves on the board for TransAlta.
